The incident led to the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a suspected irritant spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, police said.

A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were subsequently released.

This event – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
