Homages Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the duo.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt able to express about his profound loss.

"Adequate time has passed that I can finally express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced passing more hours together I realized this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor shared archival material from the film, adding that he could not remember "a single day without joy".

"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a separate piece, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Restricted

Recently, a Los Angeles judge decided to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the LAPD.

A judicial mandate issued a restriction on the cases to limit the public release of "related notes, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the probe.

The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a official listing noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Fallout and Commentary

In the wake of the tragedy, public personalities shared divergent comments.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, offering provocative claims that were broadly criticized by numerous commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the critics last week. Talking on his podcast, Rogan labeled the comments as "shocking" and suggested they showed a troubling deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan ended by suggesting that an adviser could have acted when the decision to comment on the tragedy was made.
